Klipsch K100-SW Subwoofer Review

The innovative and flexible design of the Klipsch K100-SW subwoofers make them very convenient to install and use in the home environment. This subwoofer comes with a flat woofer basket that makes them ideal for use in surround sound speaker systems. These subwoofers employ a new and unique compression pattern that gives them the tight and precise low frequency response that you need in your music or movies. The lightweight, powerful driver of the Klipsch K100-SW subwoofers delivers amazing, pinpoint low bass which is perfect for your home entertainment system. With a broad dispersion pattern, you could easily place this subwoofers anywhere in the room and everybody would be able to easily feel its presence.

In addition, the company has also incorporated a new wave pattern processing technology to handle the amplifier distortion. You can definitely trust the efficiency of these subwoofers in any home entertainment system. The low distortion which is so characteristic of most Klipsch products is made possible by their patented NED polyphonic technology. Another feature of these subwoofers is that they do not have an enclosure. Hence, they can be placed wherever you want. You can use them in the surround sound system of your car or in your home theatre area.

Apart from all the above advantages, Klipsch K100-SW subwoofers are also designed in such a way that they offer optimum performance in a given space. They are well-attenuated, meaning that they don’t waste much of the energy that is absorbed by the air. With this feature, you get maximum performance out of every wattage. And since there is no enclosure, the subwoofers can effectively perform even in a tight space.

Klipsch K100-SW is ideal for people who love listening to high quality music. If you run a home theatre system, you must consider getting these subwoofers. These are known to work best in enclosed areas. Moreover, if you run a small home theatre, getting one of these would be a great investment. You can then use it in every room in the house.

Now that you know how Klipsch K100-SW works, it’s time to decide whether or not you should get one of these subwoofers. In fact, the answer to this question depends upon what you intend to use your speakers for. If you just want to add to your media centre, go for one of the bigger ones. If you want to use it in a surround sound system, then go for the smaller ones. However, if you plan to use it with your TV, then you will be limited to the small ones.

Klipsch K100-SW are perfect additions to any home theatre or media centre. It adds to the quality of the sound and makes your watching experience even better. 3 verified buyer reviews
  1. I should have saved up for the Reference edition, but for the price, it’s nearly fine. The bass tones are pleasant and bouncy, but there isn’t enough strength to keep up with the 140w I’m feeding my RP280F Klipsch Towers. Last but not least, it lacks the sharp established percussive crisp attack. (Imagine the initial attack on a bass drum using a wooden kick pad) The sound is soft, buttery, and musical, and you can’t complain much for the price.

  2. I’ve been a home theater enthusiast for over 18 years, and my equipment has steadily improved over that time: new equipment is:
65″ Samsung KS-8000 4K TV (by far the best monitor I’ve ever had) Onkyo TX-NR646 receiver; Samsung UBD 4K Blu-ray player Polk CSA6 middle mic, Polk TSi200 front speakers, Polk TSi100 surrounds, Polk T15 height speakers, and dual subwoofers Polk PSW110, then my Klipsch K-100sw. Which has taken the place of a Polk PSW10. I’ve never owned elite high-end machinery, but anything I’ve ever owned has been rated decent to excellent.
Without a doubt, the Klipsch K-100sw is the best subwoofer I’ve ever had in my setup. It adds the one thing I’ve been lacking: a strong, visceral, muscular base contribution. (If you like, it can be a shaker.) To give you an example, when I used my spl meter to balance the performance of my two subs, I set the Klipsch Ks-100sw gain control to barely 1/4, but I had to crank up the gain on my PSW110 to nearly full, and the Ks-100 still outperformed it. To balance it out, I’ll need to do some more tinkering. My disclaimer is that I cannot comment on this sub with music because I only use it for movies. That being said, I doubt you’d find anything better at this price point. I recall seeing Saving Private Ryan in a theater and the scene near the end where the tank comes rumbling into the solders position; they are resting on a rocky burm and as the tank rolls in, you can see and “sense” the rumble as the rocks and burm shake and vibrate. Since then, I’ve been attempting to recreate the effect in my home theater. I’ve finally finished this sub.

  3. I figured my system sounded good with four 6″ woofers, but now I have much better and broader bass definition, and my smaller speakers can accommodate mid-range without being distorted by high bass. After purchasing a shielded cable, the auto on/off feature works flawlessly. You’ll need one of those cables if you hear noise from the speaker but no audio signal. A fantastic product that arrived in perfect condition.
