JBL Subwoofer Buyer’s Guide
JBL offers a wide array of loudspeakers that can fit into all kinds of budgets. A common misconception about JBL is that it is only for those musicians that are into the more extreme forms of bass. Although there are some high-end models on the market that can be used in a variety of venues, such as in large auditoriums for a dramatic effect, for most people JBL has high-quality speakers that fit the need of most music played at weddings, concerts, and events. The JBL 12-inch subwoofers are ideal for anyone that wants to add a punch of the bass to a mix. These loudspeakers have been known to produce very deep bass notes, as low as twenty-five percent of the normal range.
When you are looking for a JBL subwoofer, be sure to know what you are looking for and how much you can afford to spend. Sometimes the cheapest models will not come with as much high-end features and you may end up with a subwoofer that is not built well or is manufactured by someone who does not put much effort into their product. You do not want to purchase a subwoofer that is not designed to handle loud audio. If you are not sure which ones would work best for you and your needs, then consult an audio specialist that could help you determine whether or not a certain subwoofer would fit your requirements.
JBL is one of the largest manufacturers of its kind and is known for making high quality speakers. There are many different sizes of subwoofers that are available from this brand, so be sure to choose the one that would best suit your needs and budget. There is a subwoofer out there for just about any occasion and if you are planning to go out and have a party, then you can rest assured that there would be a JBL subwoofer somewhere in your venue. If you’re searching for a competent vehicle audio amplifier, check out the JBL 10-inch subwoofer. This amp has many features that will impress you. The first thing you’ll notice when you power up your JBL is the powerful voice coil that draws power from its built in battery. A voice coil is a vital component in amplifiers because it’s what produces the powerful bass lines that help make a song or track groove. In addition, the large magnet that the voice coil sits on will enable it to draw a large amount of power from the battery and put it where it’s needed most – in your bass notes.
When you connect the subwoofer to your vehicle, it will create a deep, booming sound. That’s because the JBL amplifier utilizes a new technology called DVCPro which is an advanced signal processing system. With this system, you can enjoy a powerful bass line that will have your fans and neighbors envious. JBL offers an amplifier with a wattage range of ten pounds to four pounds.
Another feature that you’ll enjoy is the rigid-frequency response, which is another important factor in a quality subwoofer. The frequency response is controlled by a heavy-duty dual dome bearing. The dual dome bearing helps to ensure that there are proper low-frequency response and a strong bass tone. The frequency response is precise and smooth, and the unit even has a linear phase capability.

You can adjust the crossover points so that you will still get excellent sound in your new vehicle, but you will be able to tweak the Frequency Response curve to better match your needs in different situations. This is especially important if you regularly make use of your vehicle in demanding driving conditions or are frequently recording. The JBL Podium powered subwoofers offer you a range of solutions so that you can get the sound you want from your vehicle.
Standing Wave Audio Transfer System (SWAS) is one of the many features that the JBL powered subwoofers offer. SWAS is a transfer system that is designed to minimize unwanted speaker vibration that can increase bass sound effect strength. However, some vehicles will not support this feature which means that some consumers may need to look for a subwoofer that does incorporate this feature. Certain vehicles will allow the minimum amount of speaker vibration possible, however, if that is not the case with your vehicle, some consumers will need to look for a subwoofer that uses a damping or foam surround to minimize standing wave effects.

JBL studio subwoofers are among the very best sellers online at great prices! One of the best things about this brand is its ability to precisely adjust both output & input sensitivity, so that its powerful sound can be accurately controlled by any audio equipment. One of its main selling points is the extreme low distortion that it renders, enabling it to be used in home cinema systems as well as normal personal audio applications. One of the main things buyers love is the ability to precisely adjust both input sensitivity & polarity (much more precise sound) for true flat response.
In addition, the JBL studio subwoofer line also includes surround speakers with a similar design to the Woofers, featuring specially outfitted tweeters & mid-range drivers. Unlike many other brands, these speakers use their superior engineering to create a hissing sound, which is referred to as spider mode. This is a distinctive hissing sound that is extremely natural and lends itself to powerful, crisp music. It is also commonly used in conjunction with tweeters in the “binaural” process. Many buyers also appreciate the fact that the speakers can be installed at lower frequencies, due to the woofer’s sensitivity.
The JBL studio subwoofers come in a variety of sizes. They can fit into almost any vehicle without a problem, and some of them even have a leg split for easier mounting. The flat screen monitors available with this brand produce clearer audio than their flat-panel counterparts due to the fact that they employ much stronger and efficient screens. You’ll definitely hear the hissing of these speakers, but you’ll also enjoy the clarity of high-definition music.
The short answer is, yes, there are quality subwoofers available from some brands these days, so you really do have choices when this comes to buying a subwoofer. What many people don’t realize when they go to buy a subwoofer is that in fact there are subwoofers made by two different companies. In fact, it’s possible to find different subwoofers by different brands that perform differently, depending on the brand. This holds true no matter whether you need a small, portable subwoofer, a full-sized, enclosure bass sound subwoofer, or even a Bluetooth subwoofer specifically for your car.
The best thing about the fact that there are so many different makes and models of JBL Bluetooth subwoofers is that you can always find a specific model or design that you like and that fits your budget. If you’ve seen ads or advertisements for subwoofers in magazines or newspapers, you may have noticed the designs that most catch your eye-like sleek black boxes with brightly colored trim or bold black and silver colors. These kinds of designs are quite popular, but you can also find a subwoofer in plenty of other colors if you’re looking for something a little less trendy.
Whether you’re shopping for a JBL Bluetooth subwoofer to use in your car or to put in your home or office, you’ll also find that they come in many different sizes. There are smaller ones to fit compact spaces, and larger versions that fit entire rooms. You can get subwoofers that will fit into small corners, or large enclosures that look like whole walls. If you’re looking for the best Bluetooth speaker for your needs, don’t take these shapes lightly. They’re ideal for every situation and every size.

I bought a single sub for a gig at a venue with high ceilings and a lot of square footage because I thought the bass response from the 615’s would be insufficient. I contacted JBL to ensure that feeding both main speakers into the single sub wouldn’t overdrive it or cause phase cancellation. To cut a long story short, the subwoofer performed admirably and provided the required bass response. It was smoothly incorporated into the device through the Pass-thru port (XLR) off the 615’s, but you would have had better power and balance if you had a subwoofer OUT from a mixing board or controller.
I only gave the review three stars for two reasons:
1) The machine arrived from the manufacturer one week before my gig in a flimsy box. The speaker box had dents and scratches when it was opened. I went with it and checked it for proper operation because I didn’t have time to trade it. Fortunately, everything worked, but who wants to pay for a broken-down product that was supposed to be brand new?
2) Due to the size and weight of the items, I needed to have someone assist me with loading and unloading. This somewhat defeated the intent of the EON series, which was marketed as lightweight, portable units. Whereas the 615s only weigh 38 pounds each, the sub weighs about 78 pounds but feels much heavier due to its sheer size (especially for one person).
Bottom line, I would always recommend it as a great compliment to any main speaker, but due to its size and weight, there were some shipping problems, and be mindful that if you are a solo DJ like me, you would need help loading and unloading.
The subwoofer sounds amazing. One deficiency is the incorrect foot installation. I found it didn’t sit flat when I took it out of the box and put it down. When I looked inside the box, I discovered that one of the feet had completely fallen off. It appeared that the screw had barely penetrated and was simply pulling the material with it. I’m going to put a dab of glue on it and put it back because I hate returning a product for a quick repair. As previously mentioned, the sub sounds fantastic. Very sharp. Punctuated and appropriate for any office studio. It’s actually combined with a package of JBL 308 mk2s that I ordered at the same time. They sound fantastic together. This is a really good kit. It’s expensive. But it’s well worth it.
This is my favorite sub! I’ve had it for exactly one year. I have it combined with a Polk Audio Center (CS20), Polk Audio floor speakers (TSI-500), and Yamaha satellite surround speakers, and it makes my home theater sound completely incredible!! I knew JBL made high-quality subwoofers, so I wanted to give it a shot. People are blown away by this sub, and it even pounds my sofa in my basement, which has a cement floor. Iron Man 3’s scene in which helicopters kill Tony Stark’s house is one of the best in-home theater scenes I’ve ever seen. It’s as if I’m there.
In terms of sound, it does reasonably well. I haven’t seen any particularly muddy bass, as I have with some previous subwoofers I’ve owned. I had, however, heard it in a few songs. I don’t listen to music on it very much, but when I do, I have no big complaints. The lows are incredible, and it has knocked some pictures off the walls in my home. Laughter I always listen to hip-hop and R&B.
Keep in mind that this is a fairly large subwoofer, so you won’t be able to hide it behind your couch or in a corner of your home. It’s designed to be seen, and OH MY GOD, it’s designed to be heard!
