Dayton Audio SUB-1200 Subwoofer Demo

all right Dayton audio sub 1200
available from parts Express about 150
to 120 bucks depending on the coupons a
Parts Express has Parts Express almost
always has either a 10 or 15 dollar off
coupon so make sure you search for that
before you buy it the sub if you’re
buying it from Parts Express show you
just the design if I hear real quick so
this is a 12 inch powered subwoofer does
have a removable grill sway the driver
here pretty plain looking driver but
again this is just a you know basic
black subwoofer a little Dean Audio logo
down here and the grille just kind of
pops back on the finish on the cabinet
kind of a matte finish there’s a little
little bit of shimmer to it a little bit
of cloth but it’s most thing that has
these rounded corners which like I like
breaks up a design a little bit but it’s
it’s basically just a big black box it’s
it’s not one of the better looking
subwoofers out there but completely
functional go around on the back here so
this is the ampère saturates the back
power cable down here you’ve got a phase
switch up top get your power switch with
has an on auto and off the auto sighting
as soon as it sends us a signal will
turn the subwoofer on getting it
crossover and then you’ve got your line
in here for your RCA inputs it does have
a right and left but you can run a
single cable like if your Seifer has an
output subwoofer output of a single
cable you could use just this bottom
input right here and it works perfectly
fine you got your high level inputs and
high level outputs one thing to know in
the subwoofer is that it doesn’t filter
out the little frequencies being sent to
your speakers so it takes a little
frequencies and then lets the sub play
those low frequencies but then it also
sends all those frequencies back out to
the speaker’s so some more expensive
subwoofers will take those low
frequencies and just keep them right
here with the subwoofer and then sends
out the filter frequency out to your
speakers this doesn’t do that
just something to take note of at this
price I really don’t think you’ll find
anything different well it’s not a big
deal no as for the sound they turn it
back around here this kind of heavy as
for the sound for less than or fifty
bucks I mean you just can’t go wrong
with us our music you know it’s not
gonna pay like a like a thousand dollar
SVS subwoofer but perfectly acceptable
sound for music as long as you’re not
really really trying to crank it when
you’re really really push from this the
sub can kind of get lost it’s a little
bit played that bass notes come a little
bit behind the music but even when
you’re really cranking it perfectly
acceptable and as long as you’re not
really expecting the subject to pound
like a two thousand dollar subwoofer
this is excellent for home theater use I
don’t notice any booming this even the
only way acoustics in the room that I
keep it in aren’t the best if again if
you’re really cranking it you look at
someone that boom yes but normal
listening volumes even when you’re
you’re in a pretty loud environment like
if you’re watching the action action
looping you’re not getting those weird
booming notes if some of these cheaper
subwoofers half it’s a nice clean sound
and again this is 120 to 150 bucks so
the only other competition out there is
mica has a cheap subwoofer I haven’t
really seen many reviews about this and
I compare this directly with a mono
price 12 inch subwoofer which is read it
for a little bit more power but
everything I read said they were very
very slim blur just at the time this was
a bit cheaper so I went with the date
definitely happy that I did the Parts
Express makes some great products and
this Deighton subwoofers is one of them
so if you guys any questions let me know
I’m not gonna do a sound demo for this
because I’m recording this on a cell
phone and you’re just not gonna be able
to get the bass frequencies you’re just
this self one’s not gonna be able to
accurately pick them up so check out
some other sound demos across YouTube
I’m sure you could find something if you
guys have any questions let me know

Dayton Audio SUB-1200 Subwoofers

If you are searching for the best in surround sound audio then Dayton Audio’s subwoofers are a worthwhile purchase. The brand is synonymous with excellence and quality audio equipment so it comes as no surprise that many consumers find themselves routinely ordering a Dayton Audio SUB-1200 Wireless subwoofer package. These high-end products offer true surround sound performance that will amaze and excite any listener. A simple review of the Dayton Audio SUB-1200 Wireless subwoofer package will reveal why most consumers find themselves always seeking out this line of products.

The reason why there is such a demand for the Dayton Audio SUB-1200 Wireless subwoofer package comes from the fact that not only does the brand provide consumers with quality products, but that those products are manufactured using top-notch craftsmanship. There are a wide range of different enclosures that can be found for the Sub-1200 subwoofer including some that feature an advanced wave-link audio system. Wave-link technology is a new addition to many of today’s top-quality audio systems and it is one of the reasons why consumers have come to love the new surround sound capabilities of this brand of products.

Consumers who seek the best in surround sound audio should know and understand that just like any other part of the overall audio entertainment system they must find a good speaker that can carry a large amount of sound and produce a good clear and accurate sound signal. One of the best features of the Sub-1200 subwoofer is the fact that it utilizes a brand new technology called Wave-Ripper. What makes Wave-Ripper so special is that it operates on a process which allows the amplifier to make more precise and powerful bass sounds without having to sacrifice the subwoofer output.

Dayton Audio manufactures subwoofers that use their new Wave-Ripper technology along with their patented Dayton SUB-1200 subwoofer enclosures which are designed especially for the Wave-Ripper. The Wave-Ripper is capable of making even the most massive subwoofers look easy and fit snuggly into the enclosures being produced. Most Wave-Rippers now also have a pre-amp featuring Audyssey PCM digital equalizer for even more clarity from the tone of the subwoofer. Audyssey is a revolutionary program that adjusts the volume and balance of the subwoofer in order to provide the best sound in the best situation and is incorporated in all of the new Dayton subwoofers as well as many of the newer subwoofer enclosures.

A subwoofer is only as good as the speaker that it is placed in. Choosing a great-looking subwoofer enclosure is important for the sound quality that will be produced and because the sound will be carried over to your TV, stereo system or other speakers if properly done. Most people know that they want a bass effect, but not everyone realizes that a good subwoofer needs to have a strong signal to be powerful enough to make surround sound effects come through and not just come from an enclosed box. There are several places where you can get the best sound for your vehicle; you can try putting your subwoofer in your car before you even load up your vehicle or you can get an amplifier that has a pre-amp built in and use that as the main source of your sound.

Dayton Audio manufactures all kinds of amplifiers and subwoofers, including high power, low power, bass-only, enclosures, amplifiers and many other options. Some of their other popular items include the Dayton Audio SUB-1200 subwoofer that uses Class D amplifier to output true surround sound effect at 75 Watts without using a crossover. Other brands that are popular for their high quality subwoofers include Alpine, Eclipse, Focal, JL audio, Kenwood and many others.

  1. There’s a lot of meat (bass) for the money here. The 12″ cone can move enough air to accommodate some classical music in the typical range of livingrooms. The controls are logical, accurate, and easily accessible from above. I’d like it if the labels for the switches and lights were on protruding’shelves,’ allowing me to read them from above.

Regarding that ‘bashful,’ when in’standby,’ the device does not switch to ‘on’ when the main machine amp is turned on, nor when low volumes (or insufficiently low frequencies) of bass are played; a string quartet, for example, is ignored. As orchestral music with deep bass is played, the Dayton comes to life and does its job admirably. I’m not sure if this is a planned “feature” or a bug, but I like it.

  2. If you turn the sub volume all the way up, the bass is low. I tried using one into two RCA cables via Media Bridge as suggested here, but it made no difference. This was installed on a Yamaha RXV-675, and the vendor refused to accept a return because of hazardous materials!? What are you talking about, Parts Express? The carton lacked a hazardous materials sticker!

I purchased a Polk Audio PSW10, and what a difference! Not only for pop, but also for surround sound! Many feedback on the Dayton Audio sub indicate that it is the best value for money. I disagree; the PSW10 was less expensive and outperformed the Sub 1200 by a wide margin.

  3. After testing budget home theater subwoofers, I decided on the Dayton SUB-1200 based on the positive feedback. It will be a replacement for my current Monoprice 9723 subwoofers, which are also considered fine budget subwoofers. The Monoprice 9723, on the other hand, could only go down to 50 Hz and would always clip with some movies. The frequency spectrum of the Dayton is narrower. While both are 12 inch subwoofers, the Dayton’s performs noticeably better.

The difference was noticeable after setting it up and testing the sound with various 4K movies using Dolby Atmos or DTS:X. The Dayton subwoofer provided a more intense floor, wall, and room shaking experience. Scenes that clipped on the Monoprice did not clip on the Dayton, such as the elephant “Zoology” scene in Jumanji. It was like sitting in a D-Box seat in a movie theater while you were sitting on the family room floor…you could really feel the bass!

Overall, I’m very pleased with the update, which didn’t cost much more!
