Four people were injured, two of them listed as Critical, after an LED display wall collapsed at the Ultra Music Festival event site on Thursday night.
Stories are circulating that two rig workers were trapped after the lighting display fell in Bayfront Park, while debris struck others.
Firefighters were able to free the trapped riggers and rushed them to Jackson Memorial’s Trauma Center.
Representatives from OSHA are on their way to the scene to asses the situation. Though unlikely, the OSHA team does have the power to call off the event if it is determined that the festival site in unsafe.
Miami Fire-Rescue spokesman Lt. Carroll said the LED display crashed at about 7:50pm on the stage at the south end of the park. It is one of two main stages for the festival, which is scheduled to begin Friday.
The LED display was believed to be about 30 feet wide and suspended high above the stage.
The Miami based Ultra Music Festival is set to begin Friday and run over the next two weekends. Among those scheduled to perform are David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5, Avicii and Snoop Lion.
