Update: This festival has been canceled. Details here.

Original post: Thanks to a chatty band member, we might have just been clued in early to an official second round of artist announcements for Re:Generation 2012.

This past Wednesday afternoon, sharp eyed Twitter users spotted Joel Cummins (Umphrey’s McGee’s keyboard player), tweet a cryptic little message mentioning Oregon, STS9 and the month of June.

A message like this was sure to raise a few eyebrows. Joel has just over 1,000 followers on his Twitter account though, so in reality- the message didn’t spread too far. See the screenshot of the tweet below.

Fast forward to the UM shows in Ashland and Seattle from these past few days and fans in attendance walked away with stories of the band making mention of the appearance while on stage both nights.

A leak like this usually needs to be sanctioned so I would call this a strategically timed mention aimed at generating some buzz right before a second round of artists announcement is dropped. Adding Umphrey’s McGee to the lineup would really steer this festival into a direction that most of the fan base was not predicting and could be a  great sign of things to come.

Artist Already Confirmed: Big Gigantic, MiMOSA, Ghostland Observatory

As previously announced, STS9 will perform throughout the weekend, bringing both “The Great Cycle Spectacles” and “Sector 9” to the Horning’s mainstage over the course of RE:Generation 2012.

Early Bird tickets are $147.50, Regular Price Advance Passes are $177.50, as well as a limited number of RV spots, along with an “easy on the wallet” payment plan that spreads out three payments over the next three months. Get tickets at the website www.ReGenerationFestival.com.
