An increasing number of musical acts are doing some big visual exploration and this new project from Gramatik sounds like no exception.
This Saturday, November 17th in Denver at the Fillmore Auditorium, Gramatik will debut his new stage/light design with opening support from Talib Kweli and Mux Mool.
14 days before this week’s announcement, with what appeared to be a random Facebook contest question, Gramatik awarded one lucky fan a pair of tickets to his upcoming Denver gig in exchange for the correct answer to the science trivia.
This intellectual stimuli was well received and all came full circle with the announcement of a new addition to his tour setup. Read Gramatik’s enthusiastic announcement below.
…the Tesla Coil had always fascinated me so I decided to make it the theme of my new stage/light design. I am extremely excited about debuting it at my Nov 17th Fillmore Auditorium show in Denver, CO. Designed by the talented Kyle Kegan & Ian Davis, and with content design by my good friend and amazing Motion Graphics Designer Luka Tisler, ”The Coil” is something that will give a whole new dimension to Gramatik shows in the months to come and I’m willing to bet it will captivate your imagination and leave you wondering about the magic of Electricity as if you were a young Nikola Tesla trying to rub two cats together to generate it.
