Pretty Lights Announced As 2014 Snowball Headliner

Pretty Lights Snowball Headliner

Colorado’s Snowball Music Festival seems to finally be hobbling into shape.

Derek Vincet Smith announced today via Facebook that his group Pretty Lights will be headlining the event which is set to to take place April 4th – 6th in Denver, Colorado. The festival has bounced around multiple locations since the inaugural event in 2011 and had many people thinking that this year’s festival was about to be canceled. See below for a wild theory we have!

Full festival details and ticketing information can be found here.

2014 Snowball Music Festival Lineup

Pretty Lights, Knife Party, Griz, PLM Party (featuring Pretty Lights, Paul Basic, Supervision, Eliot Lipp & More), Mimosa, Busta Rhymes, Yeasayer, WarPaint, Brother Ali, STRFKR, Twin Shadow, Jafwarma, Kill The Noise, ClockWork, GTA, Lunice, Wild Belle, MK, KAPslap, heRobust, The Floozies + Many More!

Our wild theory! Today’s announcement has us scratching our heads a bit. The festival did not make the announcement but rather, Pretty Lights did. Also, Pretty Lights is offering discounted tickets that are priced even lower than the passes available directly through the festival promoters. So, this has us wondering- did Pretty Lights Music stepped in and saved Snowball 2014? Is PLM involved in a larger scope than strictly being just paid talent? If that is the case it could be a smart move- the new Denver location is wildly more convenient for most (though it lacks the option to hit the slopes) & having a stake in a popular festival would benefit a growing music label.

Of course that is all just speculation… if we learn of any developments along these lines we will be sure to update this article.
