so two harmonics we always want to
design games in software that actually
connects players to music in a really
really unique and different way and ways
we’ve sort of done that is with games
like rock band that actually allow
people to experience the joy of playing
music but it’s always been about playing
along with the music that you you know
and love playing along with the Weezer
song playing along with a Fleetwood Mac
song I’m sort of following a score
exactly and that’s super fun and as
super compelling and people love doing
it it sort of makes people feel like
they are rock stars in part of a band
what we’ve always wanted to do is give
players the ability to sort of put their
own stamp on the music and give them
some creative freedom and one of the
ways that we’re actually doing it in
rock band 4 is this new system we’ve
designed called freestyle guitar solos
and what basically does is it turns this
instrument controller into an actual
instrument I brought an early version of
rock band 4 here to show you today I’m
going to go into like a developer cheat
that turns off the gameplay so there’s
actual gameplay here and you get scored
on it but just to sort of show you how
this works I’m just going to turn that
off right now great all right so we’re
playing a Fleetwood Mac here flute Mac
song and so using this guitar controller
I could actually press and hold any of
these buttons here and use the strum bar
and I could play a single note so here
you go
and then if I move to the top of the
neck I get higher notes
and all the notes are always going to
sound good and they all different notes
that you play here we have 10 buttons
here you can play with you can do some
pretty cool stuff like press a note and
strum up and get a bent note it’s pretty
cool you can do feedback so you strum
you turn the guitar up get some feedback
and get different tones out of feedback
get a little noise going on there and
that’s super fun in and of itself like
you don’t have to have any musical
knowledge to play this it’s basically we
we know what notes are going to sound
good you just need to sort of like find
them on your own and discover you can
actually play guitar licks by holding
down two or more buttons on the guitar
and just playing rhythmically like this
so place this repeated lick and I can
switch it up add another button to it
like that I can actually play the same
lick down on these top notes up here
they get higher and if I speed it up
so this is me I’m just playing with some
buttons here I’m discovering different
licks coming along and I’m find out what
sounds good slow it down again change it
up

guitar you don’t need to know how to do
that on a real guitar but you could
actually do it right here in the game
you do that but actually playing any
these notes here and just tapping

compelling it’s super satisfying and we
just want to like bring the joy of
playing live music playing guitar I mean
the idea is to be accessible to people
accessible to non musicians you don’t
need to have any musical knowledge in
order to play this we’re going to teach
you how to do we’re going to make sure
that you sound good and make sure that
you feel powerful and make you feel like
a guitar god we really want to like
bring that fantasy to the next level and
if you are a musician is actually I’m a
musician I can play guitar like I
understand how guitar works it’s
actually a lot of fun just to play with
and sort of like work within the nuances
of the system to figure out like how you
want the guitar solo to sounds it’s
actually a ton of fun to do and so the
way this is going to show up in the game
actually is you need specific sections
in the songs where there’s sort of a
structure around it as well yep
absolutely so there’s actually gameplay
involved in this too so I might actually
show you something about it I’m great

so this is a freestyle section where I
could do whatever I want and this right
here it’s blue so I play these top notes
up here the big button is the top of the
guitar this is a single note red beans I
play at the bottom of outside here so
these are just the sets of cues that I’m
getting I’m keeping my streak by
following along but the choices that I’m
making are entirely mine like whit notes
I want to play how I want the guitar
solo to sounds it’s completely up to me
awesome and when is it coming out rock
band 4 will be out on October 6 for Xbox
one and for PlayStation 4
Rock Band 4 Guitars
If you’ve been following up on Rock Band games, you already know that Rock Band 4 is all about improves on the formula. That means that you’ll want to know what new features are included in this game. The good news is that, because this game follows Rock Band’s tradition of delivering exciting, new features on a regular basis, you’ll be able to enjoy even more content when you purchase Rock Band 4. For example, you can now use both the standard drum set and a deluxe electric guitar set. This makes your playing experience a lot more varied, as well as allowing you to switch between playing as a lead vocalist and a rhythm guitarist without having to learn an entirely new song. Of course, this feature is only available with the deluxe version of the game.
Another exciting addition to Rock Band 4 is the introduction of a new feature that lets you change the fret buttons on your standard guitar as well as those on your practice drum set in real time. As you can imagine, using this freestyle guitar solos mode on a standard drum set is quite useful, since you can then quickly get down to practicing while moving between frets. Unfortunately, there’s no way to do this with the new Rock Band 4 guitar controller. Fortunately, though, you can still play the same songs – only they won’t sound quite as good due to the fact that your fret buttons aren’t properly responsive. You can still play as smoothly as ever, and there’s really no reason to spend extra money on a separate instrument just to be able to use the same ones you already have.
Two sets of weighted freestyle guitar solos are also available for the Rock Band 4 system. One set works with standard guitars while the other sets up with three new frets that you can press while holding down the shift button on your overall remote. These two sets of two frets correspond to a single fret, so they make for some impressive guitar solos if you’re able to hit them with precision. Unfortunately, they’re not quite as useful as the other two sets, and it seems like a waste of money to buy them at only two sets of two frets each.
There are still some problems with the Xbox One version of Rock Band, but none of them really deal with Rock Band 4 solos as much as they deal with games that don’t support Rock Band 4 at all. For example, there’s still no way to edit out notes when playing a solo on the Xbox One console. If you want to change how a passage is constructed, you have to go to a whole other section of the song. This makes it difficult to perform standard solos on the Xbox One, unless you know how to manually do certain things on the keyboard.
The only way to get around this in Rock Band 4 for now is to purchase a guitar bundle with the console. Enter the sales data, and we see that the cheapest way to pay for this new Rock Band 4 is by purchasing a bundle containing the game, a pair of wah pedals, and a book about playing Rock Band. While this is cheaper than purchasing each of these separately, it’s not much cheaper than buying each item separately. Even if you were to somehow find a bundle sale, the price is still likely to be far below what you’d expect. It’s better to save your money until the price increases so that you can buy the controller, the pedals, and the book instead of spending your entire savings on Rock Band.
Regardless of which version of Rock Band you’re playing, it’s easy to see that the prices are already inflated due to supply and demand. There’s no reason to believe that prices will drop anytime soon, but if you’re trying out Rock Band 4 for the first time, it’s a good idea to have a good idea of what the average price is so that you don’t accidentally spend more than you intended. The best strategy for finding the cheapest Rock Band 4 guitar (and by cheapest I mean anywhere from half to two-thirds the price of the console), is to wait until the sale’s date for the game hits. We all know how hard it can be to wait for a new game console after it’s been out for months on the market!
Rock Band 4 Guitar Buyer’s Guide
The new Wii Rock Band 4 game is fun and worth checking out. It is a guitar game that get better with each new version, but it can still be fun to play regardless of the previous versions. It is more fun because you have to do some real physical activity, like learning scales and playing chords. There are some great songs that you will want to learn, depending on if you are more into heavy metal or jazz.
If you get bored with the games, there is an option to download some additional songs onto your Wii.
