This guitar has a wonderful sound for the price! I play Martin, Gibson, Fender, Elly, Epiphone, Taylor, Takamine, and several other brands, and this guitar has a sound that blends well with them all. This is my top pick in terms of value for money. I’ve had mine for three years and never put it in a case. I bought it as a throw-around campfire guitar and fell in love with its light action, smooth fret board, and sturdy construction.
It’s a good guitar. Made in China. It comes with WAY too many strings. This weekend, I’m going to put some Martin 80/20 Extra Lights on it to see how much it improves. The operation is frantic, but that’s easily remedied. The finish is less than stellar. The binding seems to be in good condition. The tuners are a little shaky, but I’ll tighten them up after I put on the lighter strings and change the truss rod to get the action down to where it should be. Overall, you can’t beat it for the price. However, if you’re looking for a player right away, this isn’t it. Buy it if you know how to tweak and configure it yourself. Purchase it right now.
I replaced the strings with extra light Martin strings and used the included hex wrench to lower the action. Sacred. Holy moly. It sounds rich and simple and plays beautifully. I’d swear it was an American-made Gibson if I didn’t know any better. The tuners are always a little shaky, but once in tune, they stay in tune. For the price (I paid $43+tax), you get a guitar that, with new strings and a slight change, sounds like one you’d pay 20 times as much for. This purchase has made me extremely happy!
