Lawrence Fucking Kansas. That is how the saying goes and this show is proof as to why residents there say that.
A show by the psychedelic superstars, The Flaming Lips, is something special to behold- one of those Must See live shows; let alone when it is taking place in a theater that is celebrating their 100th anniversary!
Also noteworthy here is that Flaming Lips drummer, Kliph Scurlock, is a resident of Lawrence, Kansas so this 2 night run of shows should be beyond spectacular on so many levels.
This funky little college town in the heart of middle America has not seen the Flaming Lips perform since their appearance at Wakarusa in 2008.
When? Thursday, June 21st & Friday, June 22nd
Where? Liberty Hall, Lawrence Kansas (Capacity 1,050)
Liberty Hall has been a major part of Lawrence Kansas history since it was first constructed at Massachusetts and Seventh Street as the Bowersock House in 1882. Though it wasn’t until around 1912 that the Bowersock building had to be rebuilt after a massive fire when they started showcasing musical acts and other artistic performances.
The Bowersock House had the official name changed to Liberty Hall in mid-1930. Within that time, Liberty Hall has been changed internally, and externally. The big change occurred when Liberty Hall was last fully renovated in 1980.
