Papi Mali knows how to throw a party.

Thursday night’s Outer Hang kickoff party for the Hangout Music Fest was the perfect way to to get in the groove for a weekend of fun on the beach.

After spending the earlier evening hours on the beach catching Big Gigantic, the TreeThugger crew adventured over to Orange Beach in time to catch Papa Mali’s second set at a smokey and tightly packed bar. Living in Colorado, we are not used to seeing people smoke inside but for some . reason this little element really made the show just that extra unique. There is something about being in a smokey bar while listening to spot on blues rock that just sets the mood right.

Papa Mali ripped through a set of non-stop barn burners that culminated in a hot rendition o The Grateful Dead’s “Lovelight” that had the crowd really bouncing around. Below are a few pictures from the night thanks to our friends at Jam Plus Media.
